Compelled to Care is a multi-faceted ministry that was birthed by people who wanted a safe place to be with other people who know what it means to care for kids from hard places. We are less of a support group and more of a community full of imperfect people moving forward as we live out the gospel and care for the vulnerable.

Everyone wants to serve foster kids, but sometimes it's hard to know how. There are many ways to serve in Compelled to Care. You can serve at large events, write encouraging cards or even help organize gift drives for foster kids and help organize donations.

FAMILY DINNERS
FOOD
Our meals are served family style where the adults eat together while the children are served a in their classrooms. We cannot accommodate dietary restrictions. Please feel free to bring a dinner from home or a local restaurant.

KIDS & YOUTH CLASSES
Please register for childcare and provide as much information about your kids so that we can prepare as needed. We have classrooms for kids ages NB-5th grade separated by age. Our youth room begins at age 11 and is separated by gender. (Youth can attend whichever class they identify with). Eleven-year-olds in 5th grade can decide to attend the youth class or the 5th grade class.

Safety plans and 1-on-1's - if your child needs extra support to be successful in childcare please email Ashley at ashley@compelledtocare.com to discuss setting up a plan.

PROGRAM
The adult program includes a guest speaker. Training certificates are handed out at the end of the dinner. These certificates are NOT pre-approved by DCYF Licensing, but have not been denied in the past.
Children receive a new lesson plan every month that includes organized activities, free play and crafts. Youth share a meal and have guided conversations around topics like honor, forgiveness and setting boundaries.

PRE-REGISTRATON IS REQUIRED
Registration is required so that we can plan for the right amount of childcare volunteers and provide enough food. We understand that foster parents have kids added after registrations are turned in; we just ask that you do your best to pre-register. Please register by the Tuesday prior to the dinner.

TRAINING HOURS
Certificates for foster parent training hours are provided for trainings, but not for every dinner. Trainings are not pre-approved, but have consistently been accepted by licensors in the past.

CHRISTIAN CONTENT
Compelled to Care is a non-profit that grew out of a ministry in a church. Similar to our online content you will hear references to Christian content from some of our speakers and in our kids classrooms. We also begin and close our dinners with prayer. Learn more

MEMBERSHIPS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND OUR FAMILY DINNERS
The first dinner you attend is free so that you can see if this style of support works for your family. Our leadership teams seek out donations for meals, locations and supplies. Even with financial and in-kind gifts, as well as, volunteer teams there are still overhead costs. For the sustainability of this program there are memberships.
